The Zyklon Protektorat is the second-largest country on the supercontinent of Hauner, but has the most powerful and active military.

Population[]
With only few exceptions, Hobgoblins are the only true citizens of the Zyklon Protektorat. There are many more secondary citizens, called freemen, such as bugbears, giants, goblins, naga, and ogres. By far, the overwhelming population of the Protektorat is made up of slaves, and this unfortunate group is amazingly diverse.

Military[]
The military takes the fore in all aspects of life within the Zyklon Protektorat. All citizens (hobgoblins) serve in the military from adolescence until their 16th year. Roughly half continue their service in some form. Veterans with 15 or more years of service are common, and are treated as lesser nobility by the rest of society. Military officers are accorded the same respect given bishops and archbishops in highly religious societies.
Freemen are encouraged to serve for at least five years, and it is only through exemplary military service that a freeman could be made a full citizen.
Slaves are typically uses as battle fodder and brute labor. Hobgoblin war leaders recognize that enslaved troops make poor warriors, but value saves for tiring out foes, creating distractions and for taking on tasks inappropriate for trained soldiers.
